It's highly important for Greenwheels, other car sharers and road users in general, that you use the shared cars in a safe and sensible way. When driving a Greenwheels car, you are obliged to always adhere to our Greenwheels rules as well as traffic rules and regulations. This applies both in the Netherlands and abroad.
If you commit a serious traffic violation, a government agency (police, justice department) may request your personal and/or trip data from us. We are legally obliged to pass this on. If a government agency starts this procedure, we may decide to block your account temporarily or permanently. You will then no longer be able to book or drive cars, even if you already had made these bookings before the blockage.
Which traffic violations can result into a blocked account?
Driving more than 30 km/h above speed limit.
Not stopping for a stop sign.
Not following instructions from a traffic controller, police or authorised official.
Driving on emergency lane / emergency ramp without an emergency.
Driving in a lane with an illuminated red cross above.
Driving with an alcohol level that is above limits.
Driving under the influence of drugs, both soft and hard drugs (including medicinal).
What happens next?
In case of an ongoing investigation into the traffic violation, we may choose to keep your account blocked. If it is clear that the violation was not committed by you or there is another reason that this violation cannot be linked to you, we can unblock your account. However, if the traffic violation is deemed justified, we will no longer allow you to drive in our shared cars, resulting in a permanent ban.
