Absolutely. With an electric Greenwheels car, you can also hit the road abroad. Plan ahead a bit and you’re ready to go.
Of course, you’ll need to take charging into account along the way. How far you can drive (the range) depends on the car you choose. Our compact cars, like the Seat Mii electric, have a range of 260 kilometres. With the ID.3, you can go a bit further: around 365 kilometres on a full battery. This depends on your driving style and (weather) conditions. In the mountains or in cold weather, the range will be lower. The good news: the number of charging stations across Europe is growing, so charging on the go is getting easier.
Besides the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Austria have a well-developed charging network. Scandinavia (especially Norway) is also a good option, although charging in rural areas of Sweden and Finland can be more challenging.
Our tip: use a good EV route planner to find charging stations along the way.
Popular and reliable options are:
A Better Routeplanner (ABRP): ideal for planning long trips with exact charging times and stops.
Chargemap: shows charging points, availability and reviews.
Google Maps: plan your route using the option for electric vehicle charging and choose where to charge by adding a stop.
Please note: the Greenwheels charging card does not work abroad. Read more about charging abroad.
